Professional Experience

Antique Shop

Melody spent her childhood in her parents’ antique store. In 2013, she was given the opportunity to open her own antique mall in Black Mountain, NC. The mall featured spaces occupied by over 20 vendors, featuring items such as furniture, home decor, collectables, military and indian artifacts, vintage clothing, even Star Wars collectables. With the help of her vendors, the mall survived the Covid pandemic of 2020 and Hurricane Helene in 2024. Finally, closing its doors in 2026 after the building was sold. Key City Antiques represented two generations and over 36 years of business in Black Mountain.

Bridgestone Retail Operations

Melody has worked with Bridgestone Retail Operations since January 2020. Starting as a sales teammate, she quickly learned the ropes and moved up to Manager of Tire Sales. With top-tier customer service, exceptional organizational skills, and an eye for workflow optimization, she was quickly recognized as a high potential candidate and a management fast track.

Buncombe County Board of Elections

Melody grew up watching her mother work as a poll worker during elections and fell in love with the process. In 2006, she worked her first election, a small midterm, and her love was solidified. Since that first election in 2006, Melody has participated in over 20 election cycles. In 2014, she accepted an appointment as chief judge for precinct 51.2, her home precinct. She has faithfully served her community with transparency and honor for 20 years, and plans to continue that tradition.
